It was my understanding that the next symposium in Tbilisi, Georgia was going to center solely on felt and include an international felt exhibition from Britain. I’ll admit to having mixed emotions. I know I don’t need the symposium to teach or to be my reason for going to Georgia. However, to not having quiltmaking be a part of it hurt just a little. Well, I have been told I should have known better. I’ve be invited back! Not only have I been invited back but I will be presenting two papers (one on a brief history of quiltmaking and the other on marketing), teaching a variety of things and helping with something new–a day of documentaries all based of fiber. Nino wants my papers to be done in Power Point so I have something new to learn. I’ve also been invited to exhibit a piece in the GTG’s exhibition. This time there’s a theme–”Black and White.” I’m thinking of entering my crone mask but maybe something new will materialize as I love doing things in black and white. So another trip to Georgia will happen at the end of September. Hopefully soon I will be able to share with you what will be happening in Kazakhstan next year. So much to do but oh so much fun! Karen
