Observations

Things are improving here. There is still no water from 2 am until about 7 but I have yet to experience no water. I have noticed that things are more expensive but there is still not more pay for people. We are complaining about the price of gas but here it is even more. A gallon of regular is $3.70 and the quality is poor. Taxi fare went from 2 lari to 4 lari because of the increase. However, people are not making more money. I have learned that getting a job after you turn 45 is next to impossible and this did not use to be the case. I went shopping for fabric today for one of my workshops. In the past I have always been able to find things for around 3 lari but today 10 was a good price. The dollar contines to loose value here. Two years ago it the conversion was over 2 lari for one dollar. Now it is 1.78 lari to the dollar. On the other hand, the Euro is over 2.17. There is more advertising now. Ugly huge tv screens. Not all change is good. More tomorrow. Karen
