I spent the evening with an amazing graphic artist- Emir Burjanadze. He is 65 but looks much older. However, he has wonderful eyes which are full of life. He is an expert on Georgian ornamentation. Poor Keti had to traslate all the deep philosphical details which were not easy to understand. We were all tired at the end of the evening but our brains were given great workout. I learned so much about the three Georgian alphabets and other symbols. I had part of my Georgian quilt with me and shared it with Emir as it is full of symbols from my Georgian experience. I was quite nervous but was given a thumbs up from the master! He thought I had done an excellent job selecting my fabrics for the background. I now have new things I want to add to this quilt which has now been titled “Memories of Georgia.” Paka! Karen
